Sell to Us · Orange County
Estate jewelry deserves a reader, not just a scale.
Across Orange County, estate jewelry rarely surfaces on its own. It waits in safe-deposit boxes in Newport Beach, in the top dresser drawer of a Laguna Woods condo, in the felt-lined case an Irvine mother kept since the seventies. When it finally comes out, usually after a death or a downsizing, families face a question they never wanted: what is this actually worth, and who can be trusted to say so?
We are California Vintage Buyers, founded by the team behind Old 44 Vintage in San Juan Capistrano, with a warehouse in Laguna Hills on Moulton Parkway. We sit at your kitchen table, go through the pieces one at a time, and explain what each one is and where it sells. We are dealers, not licensed appraisers, and we say so plainly. Offers are cash, made the same visit, with no obligation to accept.

From Newport to the canyons, we make house calls
Orange County built quiet wealth over three generations, and much of it took the form of jewelry. Newport Beach and Corona del Mar hold signed pieces bought on anniversaries at long-gone South Coast Plaza jewelers. The condos of Laguna Woods hold downsized collections whose owners knew exactly what they had. Irvine and Tustin hold the engagement rings of parents who came west after the war. We drive to all of it from our Laguna Hills warehouse on Moulton Parkway, usually within the week, often sooner. The visit is free, the evaluation happens in front of you, and if the honest answer is that a piece should go to auction instead, we tell you that too.

A Recent Find
A 1940s Levi’s Type 1 jacket, sold to us by a former dealer who knew exactly what he had. We paid $12,000 in cash, the same day.

Common questions
How do you decide what a piece is worth?
We identify the maker, period, materials, and condition, then price against the markets we actually sell into: collectors of signed jewelry, period ring buyers, and the trade. We explain that math in front of you. Gold weight is the floor, never the whole answer.
Do I need an appraisal before you visit?
No. Bring out whatever paperwork exists, receipts, old insurance appraisals, original boxes, but none of it is required. We evaluate the pieces themselves. Keep in mind we are buyers, not licensed appraisers, so our numbers are offers, not formal valuations.
How fast can you come out?
Usually within the same week, anywhere in Orange County, from our Laguna Hills warehouse. If you accept an offer, we pay cash on the spot. If you want time to think, the offer stands and there is no pressure either way.
Know what it’s worth before you sell.
Our field guides explain how the market actually prices these things. No fishing, no hype: real ranges and the details that move them.
