Therefore, we are a bulk buyer of all kinds of vintage clothing, 1990s and previous. We want to see it all. How do you know if something's vintage or not? Glad you asked. Here's a tell to know it's not vintage: printed tag. If you see that it looks like a stamp went on there and just made the tag, not vintage. Physical tag, it has a higher probability of being a vintage garment, especially if it says Made in USA. That's the main tell. But we buy leathers, military kind of stuff, western wear, sports, and most of all, graphic t-shirts. It could be a pink Harley-Davidson to a 1979 Pink Floyd concert tee. We love it. How do I know if my old clothing is valuable?
Age, brand, and condition matter, but so do details most people never notice: selvedge lines, single-stitch hems, union labels, hidden rivets. That is exactly what we check. Don’t wash, repair, or alter anything before we see it; collectors prize original condition.
Do you buy single items, or only whole collections?
Both. We recently paid $12,000 for a single 1940s Levi’s Type 1 jacket. We are equally happy to go through an entire closet or garage.
What if I’m not sure it’s vintage?
Call us and describe it, or text a photo. We can usually tell you within minutes whether it is worth a visit, and the honest answer sometimes saves you a trip to the post office.
