Sell to Us · Vintage Jewelry · Laguna Woods
Some of the best jewelry boxes in Orange County live behind these gates.
Laguna Woods Village concentrated a whole generation of collectors in one place. The residents who moved here bought their jewelry new in the 1950s and 1960s, cocktail brooches, gold charm bracelets, strands of real pearls, signed costume pieces, and they kept it, cared for, in the original boxes more often than anywhere else we buy. When a Village household downsizes again, or a family clears a unit from out of state, that jewelry deserves to be read piece by piece, not swept into an estate-sale dollar bin.
We are the team behind Old 44 Vintage in San Juan Capistrano, and our warehouse sits on Moulton Parkway, minutes from every gate in the Village. We come to you, at whatever pace suits, and we evaluate everything in front of you: the hallmarks, the signatures, the stones, with the reasoning out loud. Adult children are welcome on the visit, in person or on the phone, and nothing is ever rushed. If we agree on a price, we pay cash before we leave.
What Laguna Woods jewelry boxes tend to hold
Estate and fine jewelry
Gold, platinum, diamonds, and real pearls, the pieces bought for anniversaries and kept for decades. Priced against the collector and jewelry market, not scrap weight alone.
Signed costume jewelry
Trifari, Miriam Haskell, Eisenberg, Weiss, and the other names of the cocktail decades. The signature hides on the clasp; we check every piece under a loupe.
Watches and charm bracelets
Ladies and gents vintage watches, gold charm bracelets built one charm at a time, and the small solid-gold pieces that add up faster than families expect.
The whole box, unsorted
Fine tangled with costume, single earrings included. We sort it on the table in front of you and price each pile honestly.
House calls inside the Village, on your schedule
We visit Laguna Woods more than any community in Southern California, and the routine is built for it: you leave our name at your gate, we arrive when we say we will, and the evaluation happens at your dining table with as much time and as many questions as you want. Many visits happen with a son or daughter on speakerphone, and we are glad to walk them through every number. If you are only beginning to think about it, text photos of the pieces to (949) 449-1255 and we will tell you honestly, the same day, whether the box justifies a visit.

A Recent Find
A 1940s Levi’s Type 1 jacket, sold to us by a former dealer who knew exactly what he had. We paid $12,000 in cash, the same day.

Common questions
I am not comfortable inviting strangers in. How does the visit actually work?
Sensible, and we work with it. We are a known local business with a warehouse five minutes away and a retail shop in San Juan Capistrano you can visit first. We come when you choose, family or a neighbor can sit in, and you can start by texting photos so you know exactly who is coming and why before anyone is at your door.
Do you buy single earrings, broken chains, and damaged pieces?
Yes. A single earring in gold or platinum still carries its metal and its stones, broken chains still weigh what they weigh, and a damaged signed piece can still matter to collectors. Leave everything in the box and let us read it; damage lowers a price far more often than it removes one.
Should I get an appraisal before I sell?
An insurance appraisal states a replacement cost, which is not a sale price, and it costs money to obtain. Our offer is free and explained stone by stone, and you are welcome to compare it against any other bid. Some families use our visit as a second opinion, and that is fine with us.
How and when do I get paid?
Cash, on the spot, the same visit, once we agree. No consignment, no waiting for something to sell, no check that needs clearing unless you prefer one.
Know what it’s worth before you sell.
Our field guides explain how the market actually prices these things. No fishing, no hype: real ranges and the details that move them.
