Is Art Deco jewelry really worth more than its metal?
Often considerably more, though it depends on condition and craftsmanship. Intact platinum filigree, original old-cut stones, and unaltered settings have a real collector market. A weight-only buyer misses all of that. We price the piece first and only fall back to metal value when that is honestly all there is.
