Sell to Us · San Diego

San Diego jewelry boxes hold the Pacific, and we buy them in person.

San Diego is a Navy town, and its estate jewelry shows it. Pieces came home from Pacific tours: jade from Hong Kong, pearls from Yokosuka, gold bought in port and carried back in a sea bag. Other pieces were bought here over long careers, anniversary by anniversary, from downtown jewelers that no longer exist. When a household like that gets settled, the jewelry box is usually the most complicated drawer in the house.

We are California Vintage Buyers, the buying operation from the team behind Old 44 Vintage in San Juan Capistrano. We drive down to San Diego, sit at your table, and go through everything piece by piece, explaining what each item is and where it actually sells. Cash on the spot if you like the number. No shipping your grandmother's ring to a stranger with a prepaid envelope.

From La Jolla to Coronado, we come to you

San Diego sellers get pushed toward two bad options: mail-in gold buyers, or a long drive to a shop that quotes melt weight and nothing else. We do it differently. We drive down from our Laguna Hills warehouse and evaluate everything at your kitchen table, whether that table is in a La Jolla midcentury above the cove, a Point Loma bungalow, a Kensington craftsman, or a Coronado home that has been in the family since the officer housing days. You watch the whole evaluation, we explain what the resale market actually pays for each piece, and if the number works we pay cash before we leave. The visit is free and nothing obligates you.

Common questions

Do I have to ship my jewelry to you?

No, and we would rather you didn't ship it to anyone. We drive to San Diego and evaluate everything in person, in front of you. Heirlooms should not travel in padded envelopes to buyers you have never met.

My father brought jewelry back from the Pacific. Is it worth anything?

Often, yes. Jade, pearls, and gold bought in Asian ports can carry real value, though quality varies widely. We look at each piece honestly and tell you what it is, including the ones that are sentimental rather than valuable.

Are you appraisers?

No. We are dealers who buy for the resale markets we actually sell into, and we explain those markets in front of you. If you need a formal appraisal for insurance or probate, we will say so rather than pretend.

Know what it’s worth before you sell.

Our field guides explain how the market actually prices these things. No fishing, no hype: real ranges and the details that move them.

One call. We’ll take itfrom there.
