Common questions
How do I know you will not price my 24k gold like ordinary jewelry?
Watch the scale and the math. High-karat gold is tested and weighed in front of you, the day's gold price is on the table, and the percentage we work from is stated out loud. If a piece is worth more as a finished piece than as metal, a signed designer item or fine jade setting, we say so and price it the better way.
Can you actually evaluate jade?
Yes, honestly and with humility, because jade is a specialist market. We assess color, translucency, and carving, we are candid about the difference between jadeite and nephrite and about what needs lab certification to price at the top of the market, and we never guess low just to be safe at your expense.
Do you buy newer jewelry, or only vintage?
The older and signed pieces are our specialty, but gold is gold at any age and good diamonds do not expire. Bring the whole box; we will tell you plainly which pieces we can pay strongly for and which would do better elsewhere.
