Being invited into your home is a privilege.

Most of what we buy is sold across a kitchen table, by someone deciding what happens to things a family kept for decades. We have never forgotten what it means to be let in the door for that conversation. This page is the standard we hold ourselves to, and what sellers say about how it went.

Every review here is quoted word for word from our Google profile, where we hold a 5.0 rating across 23 reviews as of August 2026.

A house call in progress: a watch bracelet read at the table, mid-conversation.

My husband and I were so happy to have found Sam & Jake with California Vintage Buyers. They are such a blessing! They were very professional, friendly, and extremely fair on pricing some jewelry for us. I was very comfortable having them in our home. I will recommend them to all my family and friends! Such a wonderful experience!

How We Treat Sellers

Six things that are true on every visit.

The visit is free, and so is walking away

Every house call and every opinion costs nothing and obligates you to nothing. If our number is not the right number, you have lost an hour and gained an honest read.

We price in front of you

Signed pieces get read and named one by one, at your table, out loud. You hear what we see and why it matters before any number is said.

Unhurried, on purpose

Many calls come after a loss. We work at the family's pace, not ours. Nothing is decided in a doorway, and nothing leaves the house without your agreement.

We say so when selling is wrong

When a piece is not worth selling, or another route would pay you more, we tell you plainly. A seller who trusts us next year matters more than a lot bought today.

Buyers first

We read the house and buy the pieces of real value before anything is cleared. When a household justifies one we run the full estate sale, and when the family wants the house left empty our own crew runs the cleanout, with every purchase credited against its cost.

Cash the same visit

The price we agree on is the cash in your hand before we leave. No consignment, no waiting on a check, no minimum, no fee.

Recently sold some of my grandparents stuff to them. … They were super honest and informative of the value of my stuff. Really upfront and transparent, great experience!!

I brought in a stamp collection that had been passed down through my family. The team was friendly, knowledgeable, and never made me feel rushed. They answered all my questions and made what could have been an overwhelming experience surprisingly simple. Would definitely recommend!

One More Thing

We only buy what we would be proud to have bought.

We ask where things came from, and we pass on anything whose story does not hold together. It costs us the occasional purchase. It is also why families, estate attorneys, and fiduciaries can hand us a key with a clear conscience.
