How does your authentication work?
In front of you, out loud. We check stitching, hardware, stamps, date codes, and serial stickers, and explain what we are seeing at each step. We are experienced dealers, not a certification service, and if we are not certain a bag is right, we tell you that plainly rather than guess.
My bag has worn corners and a faded interior. Did that ruin the value?
No. Wear is expected on a vintage bag and buyers price it in. Honest patina on an Hermes or a seventies Gucci is normal. What matters more is the house, the model, and whether it is authentic. Bring it as it is, and please do not attempt repairs first.
Why sell to you instead of consigning?

The bags have been sitting in a hot garage. How should we store them until the visit?
Move them somewhere cool, dark, and dry, which is where a bag keeps best; heat and sunlight dry out leather, warp the structure, and yellow the interiors. Stuff each one lightly with a soft towel or acid-free tissue so the sides do not collapse, and keep them out of sealed plastic bins, which trap moisture and breed mildew. Do not condition, polish, or clean the leather before selling, because the wrong product darkens a finish permanently.
Do the boxes, dust bags, and little keys actually matter?
Yes, and they are the first things families throw away. For Hermes, the clochette, keys, lock, and original box belong with the bag; for Chanel and Dior, the box, dust bag, care booklet, and authenticity card all add to what a bag brings. Set aside receipts and repair or spa paperwork too, and do not discard a dust bag just because it looks worn out.
