The villages, Woodbridge, Northwood, Turtle Rock, University Park, Quail Hill, held onto their homes through every market, which means the kids who traded Base Set holos in the schoolyards around 1999 grew up, moved out, and left their collections exactly where they sat. Its deep Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese, and Japanese communities brought in Japanese Pokemon cards, the ones that reached the United States years before or entirely outside the English sets, so a drawer here can hold Japanese Base Set, promos, and exclusives that the seller assumes are worthless because the text is not in English. The small Edition 1 stamp and the earliest shadowless Base Set printing multiply value, and both are easy to overlook. We check every card rather than sampling.

I have cards with Japanese writing. Are those worth anything?
Sometimes a great deal. Japanese exclusives, early promos, and trophy cards can be worth far more than their English counterparts, while common Japanese cards often bring less.
