Completely. Cowan Heights, Lemon Heights, and the Red Hill corridor are some of our favorite calls, and we are based fifteen minutes down the road in Laguna Hills.
We found military items from the air station years. Who should see them?
Us first, ideally: we buy aviation and military material respectfully and know the collector market for it. For pieces with real historical weight we will also tell you which museums or archives might care.
Do you handle smaller downsizing jobs in Tustin?

The Old Town house still has its original light fixtures. Should we have them rewired and polished first?
Please do not. Early fixtures are identified by their construction: cast arms with visible casting seams, key sockets or paddle switches, and cloth covered wire. A modern rewire with lacquered metal erases the evidence of age and lowers the piece. Original shades matter as much as the body, so keep any that come down, even chipped ones, and bag the mounting hardware and tape it to the fixture. If one is already off the ceiling, do not scrub inside the canopy, which is often where the maker’s stamp sits.
There is a flight jacket with squadron patches from the air station years. Should the patches come off before we sell it?
No. A jacket holds far more value with its original patches attached than the jacket and the patches bring separately, because the grouping is what ties the piece to a wearer and a unit. Period patches are generally embroidered on wool felt or twill with a hand cut edge and a soft cloth back, while later reunion copies tend to have a machine stitched merrowed border and a stiff backing. Leave the stitching, the name tape and any painted artwork exactly as they are, and keep photographs, logbooks and orders with the jacket rather than in a separate box.
