What if I only have one item?

One good item justifies a visit. A single ring, one denim jacket, one guitar. And if it is easier, text us photos first and we will tell you the same day whether a visit makes sense.

How do I know your offer is fair?

Because we explain it. Every offer comes with the reasoning: what the piece is, what market it sells into, and why the number is the number. Compare us against anyone; sellers who know the market choose us anyway.

We searched for someone to buy antiques and found appraisers too. What is the difference?

An appraiser charges a fee and gives you a written value, usually for insurance or probate, and then you still have to find a buyer. We are buyers, so the visit and the evaluation cost nothing and end with a cash offer you are free to decline. If a formal appraisal is what your situation actually needs, we will say so rather than talk you out of it. Either way, nothing needs to be cleaned, sorted, or priced before we arrive.

How do I check a pair of old Levi’s before assuming they are ordinary jeans?

Three checks take about a minute. Look at the small red tab on the back pocket and see whether the E in LEVI’S is a capital, cuff the leg and look inside the outseam for a tightly woven edge with a colored thread running down it, and check the back pockets for rivets hidden under the fabric rather than showing on the surface. Any one of those puts a pair in a different conversation, and so do the pairs that look ruined, because holes, patches, and old repairs often raise value instead of lowering it. Do not wash them, do not have them mended, and do not throw out the worn ones.

There is a guitar in a case in the closet. What should we look at, and what should we avoid doing?

Find the serial number first. On an acoustic it is usually on the label inside the sound hole, and on an electric it sits on the headstock, the neck plate, or the back of the body, and a photo of that plus the headstock logo tells us most of what we need. Leave the case and everything inside it alone, since the original case, tags, strap, and paperwork all count toward the number. Do not restring it, do not polish the fretboard or hardware, and do not swap tuners or knobs, because original parts and honest finish wear are worth more than a guitar made to look new.
