Common questions
How do you price a piece of jewelry an artist made by hand?
Against the art jewelry market, which is real and specific. A signed piece by a known modernist can bring many times its metal value, and even unsigned studio work with strong construction and design has buyers. We assess the making, the design language, and any marks, and we say plainly when a piece deserves specialist attention.
Is unsigned art jewelry worth anything without the maker's name?
Often yes. Plenty of fine studio work left Laguna booths unsigned, and collectors of modernist jewelry buy quality and design first. The hammer marks, joinery, and stone choices tell us how the piece was made, and honest work reads as honest work with or without a signature.
The gallery suggested consignment. Why sell to you instead?
