Magnin, Robinson's, the furriers of downtown Los Angeles. They were worn to the Music Center and to Palm Springs dinners, then stored, then inherited. When we visit homes in Newport Beach, Pasadena, or Rancho Mirage, we often find the original salon box and the storage tags still attached. Those details matter to us. That appraisal stated replacement cost for insurance, what a new equivalent would cost at retail. Resale is a different market, and fur resale has softened for decades. We explain the real market in front of you and pay fairly within it, but we will not pretend the old number was ever a resale price.
Does storage history really change the offer?
Yes. Fur is a natural material that dries and splits in heat. A coat that summered in cold storage stays supple; one from a garage or attic often cannot be saved. Tell us how it was kept, and keep any storage tags. They help us pay more with confidence.
What if the coat turns out to be worth very little?
