Common questions
Are Mexican gold coins worth more than their weight?
Usually they trade close to their gold content, which is substantial, a centenario holds over an ounce of pure gold. Certain dates and conditions do carry premiums, and we check for those before quoting rather than after.
My gold has no stamps at all. Can you still buy it?
Yes. Older and foreign-made pieces often carry no marks, which is exactly what testing is for. We test in front of you, explain what the metal is, and price it accordingly. Unmarked does not mean worthless, it just means unverified until someone competent looks.
Do you buy silver too while you are here?
Yes. Sterling flatware, Mexican silver, turquoise pieces, and coin silver all have real value, and they usually live in the same drawers as the gold. Bring out everything and we will sort it honestly at the table.
